Right?
Well. It’s true, your trusty iPhone (other smartphones also exist…) has a pretty amazing camera. Add into the mix the filter and edit aps available and you can create some great homegrown images for use in the marketing of your business.
But a word of caution. Whilst these images are often more than adequate for social media daily posts, a website blog or thumb nail inclusions in an eMail campaign… they will not cut the mustard for your high profile activites. Web sliders, brochures, advertising, social media banners, eMail marketing campaigns etc.
Here you’ll need to think about investing in professional photography.
But I’m a wordsmith right? Why, I hear you say, are you talking to us about photography?
Because words and images are like cheese & onion. Beef & tomato. Salt & pepper.
Teamed with impactful prose, a strong image can hit the mark in a nano second…They are THE killer partnership.
Getting those perfect professional images is not as straight forward as it may first seem. I’ve worked with many a client who has hired a photographer before, spent a hefty wedge, and not been happy with the end result.
1- They didn’t get the photographs they thought they were going to get
2 – The photographs are a bit uninspiring and dull
3 – They don’t know how to best use the photographs now they have them
That’s where I come in.
First I work with my client to determine the story they want to tell, what sets them apart and what they want to showcase.
We’ll consider the various uses the photographs will have, now and in the future. Web, social media, brochure, POS, advertising etc etc etc.
Then I’ll brief in a freelance photographer. I work with a small group and each has a slightly different specialism, from fashion, to portrait to food and beyond. From there I’ll create the photographic brief, and style & manage the shoot to ensure the end result is a catalogue of the exact images required. Not only that, they’ll really exude with your personality, helping you to stand out from your competitors and showcase what makes your business great.
Take a look through some of the work created recently for my clients, then email mejill@jillwillis.co.uk. It’d be great to meet for a coffee and a chat.
