As 2016 draws to a close, social media feeds are a frenzy of ‘2017 top trend guides’ and the like. Lots are humdrum. But one caught my eye.
‘10 Social Media Predictions for 2017 (Where you Should Be Spending Your Time). It tells us “video will be even more important”, and that we should “master social, not just do it”. All stellar advice. But, the one thing that really interested me was the reference made to copywriting.
So many businesses think that “words” are enough. Not realising that good copy is often the difference between a successful, or epic fail, of a campaign.
Doesn’t matter if we’re talking about scripting video content, or the actual writing of high-quality blog content, or even the copy that goes into a long-winded Facebook post paired with a Call to Action.
As social media supremo Nicolas Cole says: “Copywriting can move mice (and make them click)”.
So, if in 2017 you want to make people do stuff. Buy, click, comment, share, email, whatever… Then invest in good copy.
